Board Members

Mohamed Gohar – Founder

The story of GOHAR begins with Mohamed Gohar, a visionary entrepreneur who believed in the power of Egyptian industry. In 1986, with little more than determination and an unshakable dream, he founded the GOHAR brand with one clear mission: to prove that Egyptian-made household products could stand proudly on the global stage.

Mohamed Gohar’s journey was not one of privilege but of hard work and resilience. He started with a modest shop in Abdeen Street, Cairo, selling household goods, antiques, and decorative items. That shop was more than a store  it was a seed, a place where he studied customer needs, learned the rhythm of the market, and built personal relationships with his community.

With unwavering dedication, he transformed that seed into a full-fledged factory in 10th of Ramadan City, creating jobs, supporting local suppliers, and laying the groundwork for an Egyptian industrial success story.
His leadership was marked by integrity, family values, and innovation, and his products quickly became part of the everyday life of Egyptian households.

He insisted that GOHAR’s slogan, “Made in Egypt,” should not just be stamped on products, but should embody trust, strength, and durability.
His first creation, a simple ironing board, carried with it not only utility but a message: Egypt can create with excellence. That board found its way into countless homes and became a symbol of what was possible when craftsmanship meets vision.

Through more than two decades, Mohamed Gohar established GOHAR as a trusted household name, admired for its authenticity and reliability. He resisted the pressures of imitation, keeping the brand’s identity strong and unique. His leadership style combined firmness with warmth treating employees as part of his extended family while demanding the highest standards of quality.

When he passed away in 2011, he left behind not just a company, but a legacy. A legacy of resilience, pride in Egyptian talent, and a brand that had already become inseparable from Egyptian family life. His vision continues to guide GOHAR, carried forward by his children and grandchildren.
